New hookbolt electric strikes for use with Evolution lockcases

2007-10-01
We are pleased to announce the launch of an electric locking solution to complement our Evolution range of high security lockcases: the new Step 18 and Step 28 hookbolt strikes.

Similar to the existing ST670 and ST671 deadbolt strikes for Modular locks, these new products offer the rapid and reliable operation of an electric strike together with the high security of a hookbolt.

Step 18 and 28 are able to combine emergency escape as well as both mechanical and electrical access. They are suitable for use in automatic door operations and for use on fire resisting doors.

They feature very high strength, resisting 1500 kg sidepressure on the pivoting staple. 5m cabling is provided and the products are supplied to operate with either 12V or 24V power supply. Microswitches monitor the deadbolt engagement and deadlocking of the staple.

Please note that these products are handed, and handing must be specified when ordering. Two faceplate designs are available: a flat type for metal frames and a wrap-around type for timber frames.

The Step 18 features a receiver in the faceplate for a conventional latchbolt in addition to the pivoting staple. It is therefore suitable for use with sash locks such as the Evolution 310 and 2002. Fail locked and fail safe versions are available: the fail safe model opens even when a sidepressure up to 500kg is applied.

Step 28 features a second pivoting staple for the latchbolt. This allows the door to be opened by an automatic door operator. Fail locked version only is available.
