Bolt position monitors - Bolt position monitors

Application

Microswitches enable the mechanical action of a lock to be used to open or close an electric circuit. Typical uses for this would be to monitor the status of the door or activate an alarm when it is opened. With appropriate cabling the microswitch may also be used to activate other electronic or electromechanical equipment.

All microswitches are of the single-pole double throw type, and so may be connected in either the normally-open or normally-closed position.

For environmental considerations, wiring and power details see Electric Locking Information appendix.
